It has been a while.
As days go by. Nights go through.
Time goes bye bye.
I find myself with less time in my hands than before.
I started watching True Detective. One of the few stuff I watch nowadays.
I love the fact that the main character, who is so unapologetically nihilistic and anti religious, is played by an actor who is deeply religious. The dude is a douchebag redneck. (interviews left me speechless with this man's moronic attitude more than once)
His character says wonderful things like this :
(at a church)
Cohle: "What do you think the average IQ of this group is, huh? "
Hart: "Can you see Texas up there on your high horse? What do you know about these people?"
Cohle: "Just observation and deduction. I see a propensity for obesity, poverty, a yen for fairy tales. Folks putting what few bucks they do have into little wicker baskets being passed around. I think it’s safe to say that nobody here is going to be splitting the atom, Marty"
Yet, at the Oscars when he received his award (won for Dallas Buyers Club which was really good by the way) He thanked God! Who does that nowadays?
It's the first time in years (that I remember) someone thanked God at the Oscars (at least a caucasian)
Finishing his acceptance speech with: "alright alright alright"
What an articulate and intelligent finish!
There is a chance though, that he feel guilty about the things his character says in the series so he felt he HAD to thank God in public (even if it froze the room as if he used the N word).
In any case Respect! The man has enormous talent. Not such a great gamma, but the characters he CAN play, he nails them.
I really enjoy true detective. It has all anyone (like me) wants in a crime story.
I recommend it. And it's not the kind of TV series that goes on for ever and kills the story. It will end in just one season. Like a great really long movie. (like American Horror Story)
I'm spending a few days now collecting clothes and stuff that I want to sell.
I don't know how I managed to gather so much crap again.
So me and a friend will be selling our blackness by the end of April in some flea market in town.
I figured to use the money for yet another trip to Denmark in May.
It's easier to share pictures than words ... as always.
Spring is soon here and I'm preparing for long shootings in the woods.
Which reminds me I have a long list of pictures I want to share here.
The trip to the north pictures posting is far from over.
I now also have the winter pictures to add to.
And also beautiful Denmark right before Christmas
oh gotta go ... wine darkness falls ...
