"I Have Nothing to Repent"
by Rozz Williams
For Five entire days and nights
emitting no decisive light
crushed into dust of sorrow
A lifetime lost in prison
or the death of faith
Years in solitary, awash in pure
nothingness
sovereign men dwell therein,
behave like starving creatures
(nightmares)
preventing him from sleep/retreats/sacrifices
The period of mourning begins
and ends
an elixir of resurrection
lives transfused with light
yes, dawn is breaking
Slowly, he begins to struggle
for his life
Vision in mind/imagination
floating in narcotic waves
Nights of the desert/ fanged serpents
mirages of a wasteland
Suspicious evidence
secured in hard knots
A discordant hum of human voices
drawing to a close
A painful, suffering body that calls for rest and peace-
"I ... have nothing to repent."
